Hello Friends! I hope you are enjoying your summer. Despite the heat in the Keys, here at the Key West Library, we are keeping busy with projects, programs, and patrons.

We are tidying up our collections and donating older books to local organizations to make room for new releases. We have added a new program to our regular lineup – Paint by Numbers, a relaxing and zen-minded painting class for adults of all skill-levels. We have also brought back an oldie, but goodie – Jewelry Class, which now invites adults and teens to create personalized trinkets you can wear.

We continue to serve our community with tech tutoring, book club, and reading suggestions. In June, we hosted our First Annual Chess Tournament, which attracted a terrific crowd. And our Children’s Library is hosting a vibrant Summer Reading Club this year with presentations by Farmer Jeanne, MOTE Marine, and YouTube personality Patty Shukla.

We have many new services and events already in the works for the fall, including the Key West Library Author Fest and the installation of a bike repair station right out front. So be sure to hurry back to Key West and if you’re around this summer, stop in for a visit at the little pink library and say, “Hey!” In the meantime, here is a look at what you’re missing
