The first annual Key West BookFest, held on November 2 in the Key West Library Palm Garden, was a major success.
BookFest attendees had a unique and exciting opportunity to purchase signed books and chat with over 25 Key West authors. The event featured open mic presentations on the new outdoor stage where writers offered short readings and interesting anecdotes from their stories.
The Key West Library and the Friends are grateful for the support of this event by the authors and musicians Steve Allerton, and Kevin Tobin, who serenaded BookFest attendees. Thank you to the Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory, the Harry S. Truman Little White House, and Books & Books of Key West, all local institutions committed to preserving and promoting the rich literary history of Key West.
