Monroe County Public Library
Launches New Website
The Key West Library is thrilled to announce the launch of our completely redesigned Monroe County Public Library at keyslibraries.org. This site offers user-friendly access to library materials, online resources, and programs. Highlights:
· A completely re-designed homepage that helps you find what you’re looking for more easily.
· A “Conch Shell” menu in the top right corner that will always lead you to all our offerings. You can always get back to the homepage by clicking the Library logo in the top left corner.
· A new homepage for the Library’s Florida Keys History Center, where you’ll find our historic image archive, Today In Keys History columns, Dr. Corey Malcom’s Island Chronicles features, and links to places where you can learn more about Keys history, whether you’re in the Library or at home.
· A new calendar that will help you find, save, and share programs and events at your local Library branch. You can filter events by location, age group, event type – or a combination.
· Translation into Spanish and Haitian Creole.
Looking for the Friends of the Key West Library page? You can find it on the location page for the Key West Library or at keyslibraries.org/locations/key-west-library.
And remember, living, working, or paying taxes in Monroe County entitles you to a Monroe County Public Library card, with all these benefits:
· Access to our collection of 100,000 print books and DVDs, along with our extensive library of eBooks, eAudiobooks and digital magazines.
· Kanopy, the streaming movie app with more than 20,000 titles – and unlimited plays for Kanopy Kids.
· Freegal Music, ad-free, unlimited audio streaming with three downloads a week.
· LinkedIn Learning, which has thousands of courses on business, technology, and creative pursuits, including software certifications and management courses.
· Mango Languages, a language-learning app, which includes English as a Second Language and the ability to add up to five family members (who don’t need to have library cards) once you create a Mango account.
· Lawdepot, where you can create Florida-specific legal documents, including simple leases, power of attorney, and health directives.
