Mary Ann Westerlund

The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys Annual Unsung Heroes Celebration honors nonprofit volunteers whose unpaid contributions made a meaningful difference over the past year. The Friends honoree this year is Mary Ann Westerlund.

From the description of Mary Ann’s work: “Literacy is important to Mary Ann and she truly sees the library as the heart of the community, always reminding others that registering for a library card is free. For more than 20 years, Mary Ann has volunteered with the Friends of the Key West Library, faithfully supporting their mission to promote, improve, and strengthen the library. She has served six years on the Board of Directors, placed event notices in publications, and continues to be a dedicated cashier at the used book sales.”
