Speaker Series: Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan & Stephen Kitsakos

Behind Key West’s sun-drenched streets, turquoise waters, and colorful characters lies a darker world of secrets, scandal, and crime. In Key West Noir, editors Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan and Stephen Kitsakos bring together fourteen original stories by celebrated writers, including Meg Cabot, Lucy Burdette, and S.A. Cosby. Part of the Akashic Noir series, this anthology explores the contrasts that define Key West: paradise and peril, freedom and corruption, eccentricity and change.

Drawing on the island’s rich cultural history and irreverent spirit, these stories offer readers a compelling glimpse beyond the tourist postcards. The collection also celebrates Key West’s longstanding literary heritage while capturing the distinctive character of an island that continues to evolve.
