Marsha Williams Honored as Volunteer of the Year by the CFFK

For her service to the Friends of the Key West Library, our own Marsha Williams was among those honored on February 2, 2024, by the Community Foundation for the Florida Keys at its annual Unsung Heroes Luncheon, which recognizes volunteerism, at the Marriott Beachside Hotel. Williams was a Friends board member from 2013 to 2020, serving two years as vice president and three as president. She helped the Friends transition into the “2020s,” as she was instrumental in moving organizational information safely to the cloud and converting years of membership data to an online system.

Even after completing her term on the board, Williams worked with a team of board members to select software and complete the conversion. She also helped with the online transition of the Speaker Series during the pandemic years and continues to volunteer. Williams’s calm and cheerful demeanor as a leader was and continues to be a constant asset.
