This year has been a positive one for the Friends of the Key West Library. Our program activities – including our membership drive, book sales, and fundraisers have brought in nearly $100,000. There are several high points this year:

First, thanks to your support of the library, we raised nearly $49,000 in Membership donations this year, all of which goes directly to the Key West Library to fund the “Wish List.” Second, we applied to the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys (CFFK) for a program grant for the library to purchase additional e-books for circulation. We were successful in obtaining $5,000. This segment of the Library’s lending has been increasing annually, so we are pleased to have helped put more e-books into the hands (and e-readers!) of patrons. Third, our Gala fundraiser – An evening with Judy Blume – was a great success! That event – our third annual gala – raised over $12,000 in support of the library through ticket sales and sponsorships. Fourth – Sponsorships. In addition to the local support of businesses and individual community members for the gala, we raised an additional $6500 through special sponsorships. We hope you will make it a point to thank our sponsors, and patronize their businesses. Finally, because of your generosity, and the community’s response to our sponsorship requests, we were able to give the library $70,000 this year to fund the Wish List.
