“Pon!,” “Chow!,” “Ting!” No, we aren’t ordering Chinese takeout. We’re playing Mah Jong … at the Key West Library! Every Thursday at 11:30 a.m., join your friends for a few fun rounds of this tile-based Chinese board game, which originated in Southern China in the mid-1800’s and gained international popularity after World War I. All skill levels are welcome to attend, even beginners looking to learn. Adults only, please.
In honor of Women’s History Month in April, our Movie Matinees will feature “Women in Charge.” Our matinees run every Tuesday at 3 p.m. In order of their appearance, we will screen Wicked, Polite Society, The Hustle, The First Wives Club, and Wonder Woman.
If you are looking for fun family activities on Easter weekend, join us for an egg hunt in the Palm Garden on Saturday April 19, at 11 a.m. Following the hunt, Miss Carly and Miss Rio will read stories to all the little bunnies and play games! For ages 12 and under.
And on Saturday, April 26, the music students from Island Guitar will showcase their talents in a large recital. Aspiring pianists, guitarists, flutists, and more will dazzle the audience with their skills. Be here by 10 a.m. to see the full lineup of talented musicians.
The Key West Library continues to offer events for all interests and all ages. We hope you will join the fun this month at the little pink library in paradise. See you there!
