New Faces for a New Season!

Dear Friends,

I am thrilled to be writing my first message to you as the President of the Friends of the Key West Library. (Whew!) We’re closing out a busy and successful season, culminated by giving our annual gift to the library. (See many of the articles below for updates.)

But even as we wind down our 2024-2025 season, we’ve begun planning for next year.

·      Your board members have met for a successful day of offsite planning, beginning a process that will result in the activities and opportunities we will bring to our members, the library, and the Key West community next year.

·      Our Book Sales in the Palm Garden are over for the season, but inside the library sales go on all year. We also continue to accept book donations. If you are culling your collection, you can bring books in good condition with copyrights 2005 or more recent to the front desk at the library. Tell them the books are for the Friends Book Sale. Full guidelines for donations are here.

·      Our Speaker Series committee has already begun meeting to create the long list that will be whittled down to result in the speaker events we will bring you next year. If you have suggestions for authors you would particularly like to hear or know authors we should consider, you can make those suggestions here.

Thank you so much to our members, to the library staff, and to our hardworking board for making this a successful season. I beg your indulgence as I learn the job this year.

Best wishes,
Barbara Ross
President of the Friends of the Library
