Thank for your interest becoming a member of the Friends. As a member of the Friends, you’ll be making a vital contribution to the Key West community, because 100% of our member dues go to the library. Member dues help fund the expansion of library operations, services, book inventory, and program development that make our library an incredible resource to Key West.

Membership Benefits
The Friends welcome members at all levels. Annual membership dues start as low as $25.00 for an individual and one co-member.
In addition to feeling the satisfaction that comes from supporting a vital and vibrant community resource, ALL members receive the following:
- Early admission to our Palm Garden Book Sales.
- Early access to tickets for our Annual Gala, which has sold out four years in a row.
- Timely notification of Friends events including Book Sales, our renowned Speaker Series, and special events such as our highly popular mystery tea through our newsletter and additional exclusive member emails and offers.
Individuals and their co-members who join at higher levels receive additional benefits.
- Publishers ($1000) receive an invitation to our fun and festive annual thank you party for major donors. (Last year, Michael Ruhlman, author of The Book of Cocktail Ratios: The Surprising Simplicity of Classic Cocktails mixed up something special for our guests.)
- Patrons ($1500 and up) receive
- two tickets to our Annual Gala, including reserved seats to hear our speaker and admission to the reception that follows (a $350 value).
- their names included as Patrons in the programs for our Mystery Tea and Annual Gala
- invitations to our fun and festive annual thank you party for major donors.

Membership Levels and Dues
Here are our current membership levels. We welcome and value memberships at any level.
- Patron $1500 and up
- Publisher $1000
- Scholar $500
- First Edition $250
- Best Seller $100
- Novel $50
- Short story $25
Membership Term
Memberships in the Friends run for one year from January 1, to December 31, when they must be renewed to stay active.
- If you are a new joiner, your membership will become active immediately no matter what time of year you join.
- If you join or renew any time after July 1, your membership will be active until December 31, of the year after the following year.
- Example: If you join or renew on July 2, 2025, your membership term will continue until December 31, 2026.
